Updated: September 12, 2015 at 12:16 pm
Runner-up in Royal Ascot’s June 19 G1 Commonwealth Cup after losing his unbeaten tag in Haydock’s G2 Sandy Lane S. three weeks earlier, Limato made his first start at seven furlongs a winning one when streaking to a hugely impressive score in Saturday’s G2 Park S. at Doncaster. Rousted from the gate and settled in rear initially, the 9-2 favorite inched closer from halfway and powered clear once quickening to the fore entering the final eighth to quickly put 3 3/4 lengths on Markaz (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}). Breton Rock (Ire) (Bahamian Bounty {GB}) ran on well to finish 1 1/4 lengths back in third.
